The audience crowded into Little Five Point’s 7 Stages to see the encore show of “The Journey,” following its debut at the Atlanta Film and Video Festival where it won the Audience Award. All in atten dance sat transfixed by Eric Saperston’s debut documentary from production company, Journey Pro ductions. The movie follows a small group, comprised of Saperston, Dave Murcott, Paige O’Brien, and an MTV cinematographer, Kathleen Kelly on an eight year journey that took them from Atlanta to Seattle.
After receiving a standing ovation and after a round of Q and A, John Carter of Wide Open Films raised his hand, was called on and said, “Your movie changed my life.” Saperston is currently marketing the film, which has picked up distribution from Los Angeles based, indie company, Seventh Art Releasing. He said he was proud to de but the film where it started – in Atlanta.
