Composer Dick Smith was nominated in the composer category this year for the 2001 Southern Regional Emmy Awards. Winner for the second time, Smith was nominated this year for his work with Director Dan Johnson of Imagemaster Productions. The :30 program, "Primary Influence," aired nationally, profiling the influence of parents on children.
On the pop front, Smith is currently writing and producing with RCA act, Impact, for their debut scheduled for the first quarter of 2002. The record fea tures producers including Keith Thomas (Amy Grant), Jermaine Dupri (Madonna), and Daryl Simmons (98 Degrees).
Smith continues to build his music label, Colossal. In the fourth quar ter of 2001, Smith will offer a music librarywith 16 CDs for all multimedia and genres (rock, big band jazz, orchestral, techno, comedy, and epic cinema).
