BAD Studio Has Balls BAD Studio Has Balls

A client willing to go the fun and irreverent route is every creative’s wish. BAD Studio wanted to command attention with their launch of Blue Q’s latest bath line. And Blue Q, creator of the already successful Dirty Girl brand, was willing to go where no men’s bath line had gone before.

BALLS, the new product line which consists of soap, body wash, skin protector, and wash cloth was launched into the men’s bath market at The New York International Gift Fair. Blue Q’s Steph Nash said, “Men’s bath products tend to be stodgy and conservative. BAD Studio’s design really shows what you can do when the limits are pushed.”

UTNE Reader pushed the creative bar for select design studios throughout the United States and Canada, asking them to redesign their state flag. BAD Studio was enlisted to revamp the much-maligned Georgia flag. According to BAD's Scott Banks, the concept juxtaposed “two of the most important aspects of American history of which Georgia played a key role.” The design rested on these conflicting images- one military, one social- with the word Civil unit ing them.

Other studios were selected in Massachusetts, On tario, Washington and Wisconsin . Their creative outputs were dis played on Utne’s site as well as in the July issue of the reader.
