Point b’s Roberts New AIGA President Point b’s Roberts New AIGA President
The Atlanta Chapter of the Amer ican Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) hosts its signature event, “Big Night,” not just as an excuse to party but to announce its new auspicious officials. This year’s induc tee was Kathi Roberts as President.
Before her current stint as Point b’s Creative Director, Roberts operated her own design firm, Roberts Design, working with Shaw In dustries, Wools of New Zealand, Louis de Poortere and Dalton Carpets. For eleven years running, she has designed for Iconologic (formerly Copeland-Hirthler Design) working with Brad Copeland on high visibility projects such as the bid logo and bid design for the 1996 Olympics.
Kim Marks joins Roberts at the helm of Point b. As Senior Account Man ager, Marks will manage communications programs for clients including Northwest University and South City Management Group. Marks has held positions with Ketch um Public Relations, Scottish Rite Children’s Medical Center, and was most recently VP of Creative Services for Socket Public Relations.
Point b is getting wrapped up in the restaurant scene of Atlanta. South City Kitchen, The Food Studio, and La Tavola Trattoria - all under the South City Management Group - are getting a new look and a new name care of Point b, their agency of record. Now under the banner, Fifth Group Res taurants, the group will get a new logo and website. Of the concept, Roberts said, “We combined a clean serif typeface with a familiar hand drawn symbol for the number five to communicate Fifth Group Rest aurants’ progressiveness while further positioning the company as an industry leader.”
A playful concept, Pres. Patricia Babuka, explains – “The name positions the group as the fifth of the four basic food groups...” Meaning, of course, that antipasta and prawns can be considered part of the daily food pyramid!
