Cartoon Network Producer George Klein was back at LAB 601 editing a new episode of “Toon heads” that tackled controversial material head on. When Cartoon Network scheduled a marathon airing of the entire Bugs Bunny library, they decided to exclude 12 of the more than 175 cartoons. The cartoons in question contained racial and ethnic stereotypes that the network deemed unsuitable for airing. The network decided to address the issue di rectly with a special documentary: “The Twelve Missing Hares.” This documentary, co-written and produced by Klein highlights the ways public perception have changed over the last century.
